When starting a business it is a good idea to investigate any potential regulations and laws that may govern the operation of your business. You may be required to adhere to various regulations, standards and or laws . Unfortuately under the law ignorance is no excuse. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission is a great site, it spells out the consumers obligations, business responsibilities and has a number of informative and current articles.  The ACCC covers industry regulations, the Trade Practices Act and other codes of conduct pertaining to businesses operating in Australia.  I found this site extremely helpful in identifying my role and responsibilities to my customers.  If you are unsure of your business or customers rights and or responsibilities then I suggest you spend a bit of time reading the down loadable PDFs on this site.
